Dear Zesty Potato,
I love your childhood chant. I bet that was hugely disarming and distracting for your enemies. Sort of like Scottish warriors painting their faces blue and not wearing any underwear.
I am in Williamstown, just heard a reading of Dear Elizabeth here.
I love your Hera poem. I also loved thinking of its real-life context. I wondered whether it was worth a line describing the reality of the context—a real baby named Hera on your lap—so that we didn’t assume it was all completely a metaphor about Hera the Greek goddess. But maybe you want more of the epic than the confessional mode. I like the rubbing shoulders of the epic and the ordinary. That’s my aesthetic prejudice.
